About Our School

Pride Points

  • Place Based Learning is provided by regular hands on learning with community partners.  Our students consistently participate in over 50 field studies per year to make learning come alive.

  • Park Community has been nationally recognized for its School Wide Implementation of Conscious Discipline with educators coming from across the country and as far as South Africa and Costa Rica to learn from our staff.

  • Play workshop in grades 4k-1. Through play, children learn to socialize, understand how things work, and explore the world around them. Play offers an optimal condition to bring out the best in children socially and cognitively.

  • K-Kids is a student led service organization supported by the local Kiwanis organization. 4th grade leaders select projects to support our school or our community several times each year.  Once selected these projects are supported by adult advisors and involve all grades.

Welcome to Our School Family

Park Community Charter School is a place-based charter school located in a vibrant, historic neighborhood serving approximately 250 students in grades 4K through 4. Our school has partnerships with Kaukauna Utilities, 1000 Islands Environmental Center, The Kaukauna Public Library and the Historic Grignon Mansion where learning targets are met through interactive experiences connected to classroom activities. Our school also practices Conscious Discipline school wide. This brain based program has created a strong school family environment that focuses on physical and emotional safety for everyone in our school.

Place Based Learning

Park Community Charter School serves as a place-based learning community for elementary students in Grades K-4. We blend three pillars of school design (place-based education, respectful climate and community connections) with innovative curriculum tenets (global understandings, foundational math skills and thinking processes applied in science and social studies, student and staff wellness, technology-infused environment, and field study partnerships with Kaukauna organizations) into its personalized learning community.

What is Place Based Education?

Place-based education (PBE) immerses students in local heritage, cultures, landscapes, opportunities and experiences, using these as a foundation for the study of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and other subjects across the curriculum. PBE emphasizes learning through participation in service projects for the local school and/or community.

At Park Community Charter School we have partnered with three great community resources, 1000 Islands Environmental Center, Kaukauna Utilities and the Grignon Mansion.  Our students meet with naturalists, engineers and historians from these partners on a regular basis to work on hands on projects that meet Wisconsin academic standards in science, social studies, math and literacy.
